Sharing Some Bloggy Love
Lelia at Stitches of Life has passed the "I Love Your Blog" award on to me. Thank you, Lelia! You made my day extra special!
The rules of the award are:
1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of those you’ve nominated.
I enjoy reading each and every blog on my list, so it's hard to choose only seven to pass the award on to! I figured I'd try to spread the love to a few folks who may not have received this award yet...
Be Happy
Blacksheep's Bit of the Web
Crafter's Creations
Daisy Girl Stitching
Pumpkin Patch & Co.
Stitchful Thinking
The Musing Badger
Thank you all for taking the time to share your lives and lovely stitching with us!

Little By Little
I've made a bit more progress on my Happy Home Sampler. I finally finished the alphabet! That in itself was almost worthy of a happy dance, LOL! I wasn't too keen on backstitching the verse just yet, so I worked my way down to the little house. After that alphabet, I was ready for some big blocks of stitching without all the color changes!
My darling daughter will be house-sitting for friends of ours over the next week. The lucky duck will have access to a washer and dryer you don't have to plunk a dozen quarters into before it will turn on. Think it will be too obvious if I go to check up on her and I just happen to have a basket of dirty laundry with me?

Stashy Goodness
What a fabbity fab day it was yesterday! House of Stitches was having it's 2nd Annual Stash Exchange, so I bribed my kids with a side trip to South Bend for some much missed Sonic Burgers, and off we went to La Porte, IN. Hey, it's only 80 miles! That's nothing when stash is involved!
We ended up arriving an hour early due to this little thing called time zones. D'oh! I scratched my head and did the whole "I thought there'd be more people..." thing before I realized what had happened! So we puttered up and down the streets a bit, checking out greater metropolitan La Porte, before heading back to the shop. (P.S. La Porte does not have a Starbucks... pout!)
Woohoo! Stash time! Coni, the Spinster Stitcher and her sister, Chrissy, were there at the admission table. It's such a treat to meet fellow stitchy bloggers in person! Coni was working on her Joyful Summer sampler... sooooo pretty! I wish I'd brought my camera!
Here's a quick pic of the goodies I picked up at the stash exchange. Amazing deals on everything! Most of the little charts were between 25-50 cents each! If you ever have the chance to go to an event like this... DO IT!
I couldn't leave without popping into the shop... right? Of course right! After seeing Coni's Joyful Summer, I knew I had to get it, plus a few other little things I've had on my wish list for a while.
I totally splurged and got all six of the LHN Sweet Treats charts, plus some new Lizzie Kate's. I'm regretting not picking up the guacamole linen for the LK Hocus Pocus chart. It's such a wonderful Halloweeny-green! Reminds me of Frankenstein!
No other stitchy news. We've spent the last week cleaning up out at our little demolition project. I've picked up more wood, glass, plaster, shingles, bricks, and chunks of concrete! And let me tell you, it gets HOT down in a basement when there's no house over it! We're hoping to get our floor trusses ordered on Monday, and start some actual building soon!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I'd love to say I'm off to stitch but I think we're working on sill plates today.... sob!
